Throughout history, LGBTQ+ communities have been pioneers of care and champions of compassion in the face of adversity. During the height of the AIDS crisis, lesbian caregivers stepped into a void left by an overwhelmed and often dismissive medical system. They provided support, dignity, and tenderness where others had fallen short, demonstrating that leadership rooted in empathy can be a profound source of strength.

Veterinary professionals often serve as caregivers, counselors, and crisis responders, balancing emotional intelligence and adaptability with medical expertise in every interaction.
